In the last verse of Matthew, the final words Jesus speaks go like this: “and behold, I am with you always, to the ends of the age.” We teach our kids that Jesus is always there when they’re scared. We utter prayers under our breath in times of fear, danger, or sorrow. No matter where we are or what we’re doing, we know that our faith is a daily process. Why, then, do we insist on bottling the church experience up into a once-a-week, Sunday-only activity? Why is the traditional Sunday church model so hard to shake? What are we losing when we can’t integrate church into our daily lives? It’s time to break away from the Sunday-only church model. Here’s why.
