Have everyone share one highlight and challenge from this past week.
From last week’s conversation, what did you do this past week to address your temptations or hesitations towards being generous?
"God's work is never just about what we build but about who we become."
What's something you've recently completed or achieved that brought you a sense of joy or satisfaction?
Nehemiah 6:15-16, 8:1-12
What does it mean to you that "God's work is never just about what we build but about who we become"?
In what areas of your personal or spiritual life are you celebrating accomplishments, and how are you also intentionally pursuing deeper transformation in those areas post-accomplishment?
What temptations do you face after accomplishing something?
How can our celebrations of accomplishments lead us to deeper faith rather than complacency?
If God cares more about who you become than what you can achieve, how does that impact His purpose for calling you to be generous? How does the call to be generous shape and transform your heart?
After our conversation, consider how God is asking you to reevaluate your current generosity. Next week, Nov 13 & 16, is commitment weekend where we will ask everyone in our church to consider how God is asking them to be financially generous. Each of us have the invitation to: Create a New Commitment, Finish Strong With Our Current Commitment, or Increase Your Commitment.
Remember: Our #1 goal is 100% engagement from everyone who calls VRL their home. So let’s be praying for all of those in our church who are going to take their FIRST step in generosity as well as all of us who are being called to reevaluate our current generosity—may we all see our role in building God’s Kingdom in the Spokane region.
